AFRO-POP SINGER,
AVRY HAS RELEASED 2SINGLES DEBUT
Avry Ngoni Honest Chilwa, many know him as an entertainer like
Cedric or an event planner is also as R n B pop singer who has made it in the music
industry. The “Make it work” (Let go) singer has done it again by releasing two
singles already premiering on Zifm radio station . The two songs are called “Insane”
and “Cracks.”
The hit song 'Cracks'
talks about the effects of a heartbreak, the steps in letting off the pain of a
heartbreak as well as the pain of trusting someone who will deceivelater you.
‘Insane’ is an Afro-pop fusion which is basically a song that can get you on
the dance floor.
To date, Avry has released three singles, the rest are
available for public listening. He urges his fans around Zimbabwe to attend his
shows to hear and see whathe has instore for them. His shows are dubbed, ‘Royal Experience’
includes a selection of original soul and motown jazz songs.
The twenty three year old Avry is not only a singer, buta
songwriter as well. He has written all the songs that he has shared with the
world. (That he has released or that have been released)
Growing up in a Christian family,Avry Ngoni Chilwa joined
church and primary school choirs as a young boy. He was under the mentorship of
the late Ms Nyasha Bare of Zimbabwe Music College, whomadehim realize his
talent by pressuring him to be the only malealto singer in the school senior
choir in his fourth grade. For some time
he later left singing after receiving too many disconcerting comments from many
skeptic to the fact that the music industry was dead in Zimbabwe.
Like the proverbial cat with nine lives, Avry has
re-launched his music career. He began doing ballet and musicals at Reps Theatre
under the tutorship of a renowned dance teacher, Debby Fleming and Vocal
trainer Linda Frampton. He has soon perfected his singing and dance, and he has
also ventured into event planning and hosting
In 2010, Avry joined a label called Laag Beats and Vibes
which was also home to Shinsoman Father, JXB, Mikiele to mention but a few
artists (they later found new stables when Laag Beats and Vibes closed.) As a
shy character, he never did much during this time. He recorded his first song
named “My Angel” which featured Heiress the gospel artist from Christ Embassy
church( who used the pseudo name Marylyn
Sibanda). The song never made it on air and the year passed without much
success.
Two years ago, the R n B singer teamed up with his cousin
brother Schwarzenegger Mafarachisi (well known as 5qua5h) and formed the pop
duo called Zim Houz Mafia. They had tours and shows around the country
performing hits such as ‘temperatures’, Afrothing featuring Jusa Dementor,
party featuring Frisco. The duo has changed the name of their group to Hermanoe
Elektro Fusion (HEF), hermanoes is a Spanish name for brothers.
As a solo performing artist, Avry has recently released a
debut commercial single called “Make it work” (let go).The video of the song is
currently being produced by Tafadzwa
Ranganai as the director who also directed
the “Parere Moyo” video by songstress Cindy. The song (Make it work)
highlights the effects of not having time to be with your partner and fulfill
the basic human need- spending time with your partner. Hence, the song
admonishes the lovers to “Make it work.” One can conclude that Avry is an advocate
of mending dysfunctional relationships, and creating long lasting relationships
based on love.
Avry is currently working on a debut album called ‘Love and Lyrics’.
The executive producer of the album is 5qua5h of iNgoma Records. The singer
extends his gratitude to his producer whom he calls a great teacher and coach
as far as Love and Lyrics is concerned.
To see what he has in store and check out his music, the
public can visit these following sites mtv.com/artists/avry as well
soundcloud.com/kingavry. The official website will be ready for public viewing
soon.Avry has also made it in the final 8 of the Zimhunt talent
competition. For Avry, the sky can only
be the limit. He has a great future
ahead as an R n B singer.
