A1 CREW 263 - #PROUD ZIMBABWEAN TEENS


Inspired by many artists local and international, the need to be among these Legends and to become more than just icons keeps them motivated. A1 crew started with only three boys David Kanduna (Khay Dee), Tinodiwa (Swae tags) and Joeroy (King Aj) free styling and using their mobile phones to record. In December 2014, they contributed money to record 2 songs Wannabes &School swag only 16 and 17 years of age then. Having gained popularity amongst school students, they felt encouraged and supported to pursue their career. They came up with a name A1CREW263   (A1 which are the first letter and first valid digit respectively and 263 which is a country code) #ProudZimbabweanTeens. In 2015, they recorded 4 tracks including the hits Ndine Nharo, Feeling the vibe, Messed Up, and God over everything. These tracks were their gateway to stardom.

A1 Crew is a local outfit of young talented artists from surrounding suburbs of Harare including Glenview, Budiriro, Malboureign and other places, with singers, rappers, dancers and deejays. It consists of 9 teenagers of age group 15 to 21 years old who are ambitious to set Zimbabwean hip-hop music on a certain level. These young boys and girls are passionate about music and through their genre hip-hop; they believe in reaching out and change the livelihoods of their many youth behavior that has turned astray.
Having started to take  their music seriously this year, A1 crew has gained much popularity in the music circles and  managed to share stage performances with artists such as  Jah Prayzah,Andy Muridzo, Ti gonzi,Jnr Brown,King Shaddy,Sniper Storm,Cal-Vin,Briss Mbada,TeamBho, Marques and Miles just a few to mention. They also performed in Botswana
  Maun with the help of Mr. Mpopati, Step Up to HIV Campaigns, Splash Paints Promo, Zimhiphop Awards Launch Party, Coca Cola Expo, and Jibilika, Rap city shows, Changamire hip-hop festivals, Miss IOS, Joina City Christmas Carols and many other events. The crew featured in Zimrapcities magazines and blogged by different bloggers including the Award winning Online Magazine, Lounge263.
A1 Crew gives thanks to their parents and guardians who allow them to express their feelings through music and giving them emotional support. Splash Paints Officials, Ndeip Promotions, Jibilika Dance Trust, USAID and YAAIDS are among organizations that A1 crew extends their appreciation for allowing them to perform at charity events that have brought about experience and opportunity to give back to the communities. Lounge Magazine, Charles Harven have been supporting them with media coverage and financially respectively. A special thank you goes to their fans who motivate them to work hard and produce good music.

A1 Crew latest project is a 10-track mix-tape album, which reveals female members’ voices coming out. Nomsa’s (also Nigerian artist) voice zoned perfectly on hit chorus Moment and Ice queen verse in song Kafreak  .G Records made it happen and this mix tape is currently making waves in hip-hop circles after its release in May. In this mixtape, the teens praise the country’s lifestyle through the song Kalife Kemu Zim and Kare Kare. Their message is that of rebuking their fellow ages their lyrics in Vanozvistressa encouraging girls to behave well and have focus in life. These songs are some of the major highlights in their album making it a success.
